Need an idea for a name for this variant
maybe something like Golden Horses of Kyoto?
at the end of the game you'v shown, there are 4 pieces that can't do anything. is this a bug or a feature?
How so? The last move is 39. G54-53 Checkmate
金桂回将棋
or
Kinkei-kai Shogi - something like Gold-Knight Cycling Shogi
My Japanese is too weak, but I think it sounds good. Not sure about 回 but I think it brings some clarity plus it's beautiful.
"Gallopin' Golds"
"Gallopin' Golds: A Kyoto Shogi Variant" might actually be good!
Gallopin’ Golds Shogi - maybe only for western players, idk
金桂舞将棋
金は桂に、桂は金に… 盤上の舞!
Kinkei Mai Shogi
I am aware of the outcome of the game, just curious about the mechanics. during the game (move 27) gold promotes to knight on last rank, now in that situation that piece has no where to go and cannot be used unless taken and dropped. now, this continues to happen maybe three more times (as shown at the end of the game), and I was wondering if this is intended for the game play
Since there is little material on the board, the stuck pieces will serve as available targets for the king. The king becomes the active piece in the game.
