Do CorrShogi players use opening books?

I can't find the opening book for corr. games. The FAQ says:

"Is correspondence different from normal shogi?

On Lishogi, the main difference in rules for correspondence shogi is that an opening book is allowed. The use of engines is still prohibited and will result in being flagged for engine assistance. Although ICCF allows engine use in correspondence, Lishogi does not."

Since it mentions the ICCF (International Correspondence Chess Federation), my guess is this part hasn't been updated and shows the same content from Lichess.

Does shogi have an equivalent or players only know about castles and possible traps? In case these books exist for shogi, will we see it implemented on this site?

Yes this does need a change and was taken from lichess.

Well there are shogi studies and a curated list of resources provided by lishogi, but I don’t think many shogi opening books provided for free online and most need to be purchased to be used. Though even in correspondence games, using the analysis is definitely not allowed. In case you were talking about an opening explorer on lishogi like there is on lichess, then of course there are plans for it to be implemented, but using the opening explorer in correspondence games is not equivalent to using an opening book and is considered cheating so please don’t.

Don't worry, I don't want to use engines. The explorer I talk about contains only moves from (very strong) human players, not engine lines. On lichess you can see those first best moves via analysis board (microscope icon) in your ongoing corr. games.

I noticed that. In chess the advice is "develop your pieces, castle and connect your rooks before move 10 if possible". Shogi opening is slower but I have to think ten times harder than in chess and I feel that I can't enter middle game without a promoted rook or bishop taking half my pieces.
