For international chess i've always used a combination of lichess studies and recorded games to learn openings, if anyone could point me to an archive of high level games or really any learning materials on opening moves that would be helpful. Thank you.
Advice for learning openings/joseki?
I have found Wikipedia to be a useful starting place for Shogi openings: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Shogi_opening
leading to for example, the article on Double Wing Attack: en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Double_Wing_Attack
Via the biblography and external links you can find other sources, for example HIDETCHI's well-known Youtube-series.
As for database of professional games: shogidb2.com/
The interface is in japanese, but say that you via Wikpedia become interested in Yagura-openings, then you can copy the japanese name from the article (矢倉) and search Shogidb2 for games with 矢倉-opening. The same goes for player names etc.
