Rated variants in correspondence

The reason why we can't play rated variants in correspondence mode on Lishogi comes from Lichess. According to a thread I read on their forum a long time ago, players from variant leaderboards protested because CorrVar players raised their ratings with super slow play and therefore wasn't fair to let them occupy space in the leaderboard (which is specially reserved for flaggers). Instead of creating separate rating categories for live and CorrVariants (like chess.com), Lichess decided the solution was to ban rated CorrVariants.

Lidraughts.org, another site based on Lichess software, keeps CorrVariants like in the original Lichess and they have no problems. Here's a recent game of a rated variant: lidraughts.org/9S6L9P85/black

I'd like to know what's the stance of Lishogi's devs on this issue. Will we see rated variants here?

Speaking only for me: I don't know whether rated correspondence variants are planned. I lack any preference on this issue (sure, features are fun but I'm not moderating or maintaining the site).
