Resources for creating new piece sets

Hey all,
I'm very new to Shogi and I have been looking for a piece set that is easy to work with coming from chess (and not knowing any Japanese). Personally, I found the International Black and White pieces for Chushogi absolutely the easiest to navigate, but unfortunately they don't show up in the options for regular Shogi.
I have seen in update posts that some users offer new piece sets for implementation in new updates, but I cannot find a way to download any existing piece sets. So I'm asking for guidance: how do I download the existing International_BnW set of piece 'avatars', maybe make a few tweaks, then either upload them for personal use or offer them to the Lishogi moderators for possible inclusion next update?

I think these are the SVGs for the piece set you're referring to:

Downloading the whole repository and then unzipping it seems like the easiest way to download the files.

Though, actually using your edited files on lishogi seems tricky. I'll test this today since I'm not sure if it works, but your best shot for using the files is probably a custom browser extension. I tried a few other things for locally replacing images on websites but none of them persisted through page reloads.
