AI strength and difficulty

Hello,

I am quite new to Shogi and to lishogi.org. I still kind of wonder if the AI works as intended, because if I analyze it's moves, level 1 seems to be very strong for a level one AI... I have like 0 chances to beat it and imho a level one AI shouldn't look ahead 3+ moves etc.

I am sure people can beat it, but I just wonder if I am too bad or if the AI is still kind of too hard :).

The rating is always shown once you enter a game against a particular level.
Level 1: 800
Level 2: 1100
Level 3: 1400
Level 4: 1700
Level 5: 2000
Level 6: 2200
Level 7: 2400
Level 8: 2600

Regarding the strength of AI level 1, honestly it does play really well, but almost never seems to mate you unless you make a serious mistake. So I really don't think it is that strong.
