The correct answer is still checkmate, but it's only in 5 (rather than 3), and engine suggests that N-33+ might lead to checkmate as well.
puzzle with minor error
I see a mate in 3... R*23 Kx23 B-33+ 🤔
(Srry if I misunderstood your question)
The issue is that R*23 K-11 and Sente requires more moves to checkmate, as noted by the engine.
Good catch! It’s a a mate in 5 if K-11 is played.
Q: What is a "futile interposition"?
A: Defender may block a check by Rook, Bishop, or Lance by moving a piece or, as stated above, by dropping any piece not already shown. This is known as an "interposition." An interposition is considered futile if the Attacker can simply capture the interposed piece without otherwise changing the solution. Futile interpositions are disallowed.

It's a mate in 3 but for some reason lishogi's engine counts futile interposition as a valid move so yeah.
Then it should be related to this github.com/WandererXII/lishogi/issues/265
nevermind weird rule the engine I guess could be fixed I found one and it bugged me when I saw only the mate in five but couldnt see the mate in three cause I didn' t know this rule
