I recommend you set your pieces to Dobutsu. Dobutsu pieces have dots and arrows that shows how each piece moves.

This is an option on lishogi.org, along with many other designs. Click on your username and then select "Piece Set". In addition, there are chess type pieces, and other designs that indicate how each pieces moves. Just choose an option that works for you.

I do remember seeing the R B L N G S K P +P +R +B +N +S + system on an Android Shogi App. So it could be a welcome addition to the piece designs, if it is easy to implement. Bear in mind lishogi already has a wide variety of pieces available.
