There's a much better way to improve. Stay conscious while playing!

Don't only play the game and then quit after you finish it. Take the game again ( with some help source like friends or AI ) to see, what's the part you need to improve like opening or endgame. And about where to improve it, try some puzzles or tsume like @YoBot_v2 said! Good luck on your way to improve your Shogi!

#2 is correct.
Especially the 1 and 3 move Tsume problems helped me a lot.
