Why engine evaluation numbers differ from other survice

This is why lishogi is not popular in Japan.
Chess player useally think "0.8 is still even" or "3.5 is already tough." when watching streams or use engines.
The same can be said about shogi.
Shogi player usealy think like "400 is still even"
Other software use about 200 times differ from lishogi.
User should be able to choose current style of evaluation number or Japanese shogi software way.

It's the difference between Chess pawns and Shogi pawns. In Chess, you start with 38 pawnsworth of material. In Shogi, you start with 62. This makes Chess pawns worth about 63% more, just by estimate. But it's more than that. Shogi is a crazyhouse game, thus there is a lot more room for deviation even when a player has what would be a crushing advantage in Chess.

Lishogi gives evaluations in Shogi pawns. The software you're using may give it in estimated Chess pawns based on win likelihood. Lishogi's eval. may be less intuitive for a Chess player, but the Chess eval. system would be less intuitive for a Shogi player.

If you want to mitigate this, you can approximate Chess eval. by dividing Shogi eval. by about 3.

I understand what you say.I am originally chess player.so I understand chess eval.
I just want to say if user can choose the evaluation way.lishogi become better.Because most of shogi player is not familiar with lishogi evaluation system.

Are you sure? I would say an eval system based on the principle that one point is one pawn is intuitive to an experienced Shogi player, who would know that one pawn is not a large advantage the same way it is in Chess. However, perhaps there should be an option in the settings to use approximated Chess eval. instead of direct Shogi eval., though this should be opt-in and not opt-out.

Before you say "many Shogi players aren't experienced enough to know that", many Chess players would not be experienced enough to know exactly how winning being one pawn up is.
