@Wanderer @Toadofsky where's dobutsu on lishogi?
@chen-rcc You can set both piece set and tile design to Dobutsu in that menu which opens when you click your own user name (in the upper right corner).
@GermanPlayer @Wanderer @Toadofsky I mean when can we play dobutsu on lishogi?
It will be available in the next update, I will make a blog post once it's ready. Late January or February - no promises tho.
Small update with some fixes was deployed. Variant correspondence games should now work as expected. The way activity (shown in profile) is stored in db was refactored, previous implementation wasn't very good performance wise - all previous activity was cleared tho, decided it's not worth migrating, since it rotates anyways. Many shoginet bugs were fixed, so minimal version was bumped to 5.2.0 - also please update the systemd config file for shoginet if you use it.
Huge update!
Just wanted to comment on adding new color schemes. I've read on github that apparently Japaneses users find the site too plain and I think no type of color would change that since the complain is not about if the combination looks good or bad, only that there are blank spots with nothing in it.
I think the "Transparent" background (there also the River theme which has a drawing) solves exactly that problem, maybe that could be the new "default" instead of changing the current dark/light ones since we can already customize a lot!
When will Dobutsu Shogi be implemented?
> Fixed the icons - it should load Fixed the icons - it should load now.
It does, thanks!
> If I remember correctly, check sounds were only present in the sound sets that were removed - NES, SFX, futuristic.
First two are safe btw.
> But I can add one of those back, if you want.
I think there instead of deleting would rather be added more sounds (like on Lichess). But not momentally.
> Not sure about the check sound, tho...
Not so many people are too experienced to notice check every time. There’s already an option for check to be highlighted visually, so it’s be nice to have an option to highlight it audially especially if this function existed.
I think that since a lot of tsume have multiple solutions that differ on the last move; differ by how far away you put a rook, bishop, or lance; or differ by whether you promote a piece or not, you should support multiple solutions.
You can't post in the forums yet. Play some games!
