Body:
The new time control preset feature is convenient, but its current behavior causes problems:
If another player is already waiting with the same preset, the game starts immediately regardless of rating difference.
This creates extreme rating mismatches. In the regular lobby system, challengers can at least see who is waiting and avoid such situations.
New players may expect presets to work like proper automatic matchmaking, but instead they encounter an inconsistent system. This can lead to disappointment and player churn.
As more people use presets, the lobby also looks empty, which makes the site appear less active than it really is.
Request:
Remove the automatic matchmaking behavior from presets, making them simply a convenient way to create a lobby offer,
or
Implement rating-aware matchmaking when joining via presets.
Summary:
Presets are useful, but the current rating-blind auto-join undermines fairness and consistency, and risks driving away new users.
Please consider adjusting this behavior.
