(In a real game, you might take the piece with the tokin (a threatmate), but in tsume-shogi every move must be check!)

This clever theme is found in many other tsume-shogi problems. (I'd be curious to know when it was first published!)

This problem from the initial chapter of Mononofu showed that the protagonist had the proper "tunnel vision" for shogi analysis. Can you solve this "dan-level" problem?

Hint: you have to consider EVERY possible defensive drop.
I've collected a bunch of interesting shogi positions spotted in anime and manga. Let me know if you find others you'd like to have explained!
