Let me introduce you basic theory for each stage of shogi.

As a beginner

You need to know basic theory of shogi.

I can explain this to you easy to understand.

Opening

at the start point You need to construct of your own castle.

Why you need to build your own castle?

in shogi as in chess before You start decisive attack you need to safe your king from mating attack.

you can use your gold and silver to build castles usually it consists 3~4 golds and silver generals (at least 2)

if castle is completed make sure your king safely castled in so that your king is hard to be checkmated.

Middle game

as your castle is completed you start your own attack by using Rook and Bishop.

Promotion of these two pieces are important and helpful to attack.

then you start "deconstruct" your opponents castles.

exchanging your attacking pieces with your opponents castles components. ( golds and silvers)

exchaning your attacking pieces with your opponents castles components makes your opponents king much vulnerable to attack.

you can start your attack with usually Rook Bishop Knights and 1 Silver. and maybe lance.

Endgame

And yeah you accomplished succesful attack and your opponents king finally be lonely without any bodyguards near him.

then simply checkmate him.

Endgame technique is important to finally checkmate and you win as in chess.

In summary

first you need to build castle using gold and silver and let your king safely castles in.

Two start your attack using Rook and Bishop

exchaning your attacking pieces with your opponents castles components let his king alone.

Three checkmate lonely king.

You can do this process much faster as you

study shogi tactics and strong & weak points of each castles

tips for shogi castles if you build strong castles it costs much time consuming later your own attack and if you build weak castles you can start your attack much faster as it costs low but easy to be deconstruct.
