Some players feel that current transparent images of pieces in hands are not familiar for them to look over the board.
It causes difficulty to concentrate for them to play shogi because of the images.
So the suggestion is that pieces will only show clearly when they are in the hands.
I hope we can choice which style to use.
I think no need to move any positions in hand pieces, only clear off them if no pieces in their hands.
This case might be especially problem when we use "compact" style board.
Thanks.
[Suggestion] No images in hand with no pieces
I will add the option to do so, in the next update. Thanks for the suggestion.
I apologize if I'm complicating this... certainly the new option sounds like an excellent idea.
Part of the reason the ghost pieces in hand stand out is because they aren't on a piece stand, unlike "Side" view which has a piece stand. I'm not asking for piece stands right now, however...
* Where there is a piece stand, I think "ghost" should be the default (although I'm not sure)
* Where there isn't a piece stand, "transparent" should be the default
* Unfortunately, in dark mode CAPTCHA piece stands blend in with the dark mode background color. I guess we can revisit that some other day.
I will try decreasing the default opacity of the ghost pieces while in 'compact' view, but I think having different defaults for different layouts, would make the option to hide or not hide 'ghost pieces' a bit confusing.
Also without the ghost pieces, arrows to or from hand are kinda nonsensical, but I guess we can live with that.
You can now hide these 'empty' pieces in preferences -> 'Hide ghosts of pieces in hand'. I also reduced the default opacity to 0.1 to make it less distracting by default.
I've checked and worked well.
Thank you very much!
