It would be cool if it were implemented on the main page, but as it is right now, it remains a practically ununsed and invisible feature of this site.
The chat room is there for you to talk to another member. It's not a public chat room, shout box. 🙂

I don't see too many who use the chat room. but I am glad that it is there
not sure how I feel though that some don't even know that the feature exists... guessing that the experience is different for those who use their phone for the site?

Your two messages are gone again. So it stores messages, but only for a short time? I still don't see the point to it.

I assume this means that this means "inactive" messages are cleared every 10 mins? I only looked for like a minute so I'm not confident, but that sounds reasonable
