I've just recently won successfully by checkmating the opponent. However, it has taken way too long to come to that point...
What can I improve in order to make my skills better? Tsume problems? General puzzles?
Here's the game:

Thanks!
Tsume and puzzles are good. there are also some studies here that focus on checkmate patterns, e.g.:

You can also learn a lot from studying the post-game analysis: both you and your opponent missed various opportunities to checkmate. Spending some time looking at that will also help you defend.
Thank you so much!
shogi is a hard game to learn, and if you'r a similar level to the other player it's often going to be hard to give checkmate. just somethings to keep in mind to make your journey a little easier: some puzzles you might want to look out for are the hisshi ones (brinkmate puzzles), as those are very practical to improve your end game. they say, "give checkmate by surrounding the king", you can think of this like building a reverse castle around the opposing king
I wish you well with your next game
