How credible are these new ranks?

Is someone who's classified a 1-dan over here comparable to someone with the same title at 81dojo or ShogiQuest? Or were they just arbitrarily chosen?

I'm asking this question because for the first time in my Shogi 'career', being a shodan seems to become a realistic goal for me, at least here at lishogi, and it shows that I must have improved in the meantime.

as with all elo-based ranking it's a function of the overall skill levels of the players on the platform
