Hello, I was wondering if it would be possible to suggest adding new variants such as Anti-Shogi, Shogi960, and other chess variants to Shogi. I'm not sure if this would be considered inappropriate in terms of Japanese culture, but I believe it would enhance the game's variety and appeal to a wider audience. Thank you for your time. :)
A suggestion for new varients
(hey I’m also from Lichess;)) You can check github.com/WandererXII/lishogi/issues?q=is%3Aopen+is%3Aissue+label%3Avariant – there’re suggested variants like Shogi11340, Must Take Shogi, King of the Fuji and so forth;)
Hey there! I'm glad to hear @Rechefiltr_is_Fire with the comment! However, I'm not quite sure what you're referring to regarding the variants. Are they here right now or is it still developing?
@CHChessPersonOfficia They have been suggested, but not yet implemented. You would have to ask the devs for what the progress is on them. I do know that the main focus right now is to release the app, and to get lishogi out of the beta version. This was all from the latest site update: lishogi.org/blog/post/ZcQjlRAAACMAgvrF
Hey there @LizardWizard, thank you!
how many variants of Shogi do you know?
shogitter.com/rule
@Pokshtya Tori shogi is pretty interesting, I hand-made a board and pieces for it many years ago, and played a dozen games or so. As for how many variants, I'm not sure exactly ahah
Tori is good enough, but too slow in my opinion. If you want, my friend, we can play it on www.littlegolem.net/jsp/main/
However, I don’t have enough practice in bird chess ;)
9×10 kyo-shogi(京将棋)、Futashikana-shogi、shinjuushogi、shouryuu-shogi、mouchou-shogi、puppy-shogi、neko-shogi、makyou-shogi、yuudai-shogi I think it would be interesting to see more middle size variants such as. Wa-shogi and other large variants, of course.
@Pokshtya you can play Tori shogi on www.pychess.org in real time.
