Hello I am noob in this game. I got to know about this site from lichess.org , the strange thisng is the format of the both sites are similar. Please teach me about this game , i am good at chess, @knightThiyum in lichess.
Shogi is like Chess, but it has three major differences: The pieces are generally slower, when you capture them you take them as hostages instead of them exiting the game, and most of them promote to a stronger version of themselves once they enter the last three ranks of the board. To a total beginner of Shogi, I would recommend them playing against the easiest bots until they get a feel for the game, then advance to the slightly more difficult bots, until they feel confident enough to be pitted against real human opponents.
The entire ruleset can be viewed under the 'Learn' tab of this site, in Shogi Basics. As a former Chess player myself, I think of Shogi as the 'bigger brother' of Chess, as it's more complex and exciting than its 'younger sibling'.I spent around 2.5 years to get me from first learning the kanji until reaching 1-dan, and so far the journey has been really rewarding for me.
In genersl its best to see it as a more complex but slower crazyhouse-variant.
My tip for beginners to the whole tutrial and then tactics training. nAd play mini shogi at first to get a feel for drops and the pieces.
You can write if I shoulkd offer you a game in that or the normal variant
And it depends if you want to play the game in real live too.
If you dont have a chance to play it in the near future in reali live you maybe should change your pieces symbols to soething you can more easally
rember, altough the youtube videos are in standard pieces
