Accounts closed for spam should have their votes uncast

It's quite annoying to see dislikes spammed from accounts which don't even exist anymore. The votes still existing is a lasting impact of the spammers, even after they're “gone”.

Basically, every remnant of them should be wiped off the face of the site, as if they'd never existed.

I think it'd be okay if the posts themselves stayed IF the player wasn't banned for trolling or profanity. But that would probably be tougher to implement, and it would also be a judgement call on whether the user is truly a troll, or just a difficult person.
Actually, now that I reread, I guess that's what your forum title already says. Yeah if it's for spam/trolling, they should just be wiped.
More of the same from that charlie guy is still in the chats, even on the Russian-speaking teams. I've been reporting it, and hopefully it goes through despite the deleted profiles:

Right, that's why I said “accounts closed for spam”.

I think “trolling” is different from “spamming”. Spamming is quite clear-cut, whereas trolling might need to be removed on a case-by-case basis or simply left entirely. Either way, it wouldn't be that hard—just categorize them differently in the moderation toolkit.

Call me arrogant, but I truly believe these people are already punished enough by simply existing. Why the f would you go out of your way to troll a Shogi site, out of all places? It just seems so vain and without any sense, when at the same time, just one click away, they could play the greatest game of the world instead.

I don't know what the moderation toolkit on Lishogi looks like currently (since I'm not a moderator), but it seems to be pretty lackluster. Here's another idea: If a user is banned for trolling (not spamming), but their name is inappropriate, it could be replaced with “deleteduser” + some numbers on remnants of them which were kept.

Well, yeah, but this isn't a “punishment”, per se; it's a way for others not to have to deal with them. Even if the warm body behind the account is gone, the account itself is still a nuisance.

@GermanPlayer They see the site as an easy target, I think. Some people just really have nothing better to do with their lives, and get a kick out of being obnoxious. It's total nonsense to me as well, but I do still think that the foul things they say really ought to be removed. Nobody wants to see that stuff, and it looks bad on the site that's supposed to be for all ages.
In the same vein, I really don't understand the cheaters' mentalities either. You aren't going to get a big gold medal or $1000 for winning a game on lishogi. And shogi in general isn't even big enough to get clout or personal accolades.

Not in the West, but in Japan, it likely is.

You can't post in the forums yet. Play some games!
