Looking at today's daily puzzle (wTUGB) I thought the starting state of the board was pretty amusing.
Continuing on the the next puzzle, I got eywQu, which also features some totally unhinged shogi if you replay the moves of the game.
Is there some kind of "charging-king" style I'm not aware of? :D
from my experience, there have been two kinds of players who bring out their king past their defence: trolls, and n00bs
it's not a playstyle I'd recommend for new players. you can give it a try if you want; just be prepared for a quick game

I saw one where the king was inside the enemy lines, alone, once.
A few years ago there was an April fools' tournament based on the (nonexistant) "Bougyoku" opening
