Will lishogi support Dai Shogi(Large Shogi) in future?
Even crazier Shogi
I hope it will be possible to play the improved Reiwa Dai shogi.
Possibly, but I don't think there would be enough "serious" Dai Shogi players to warrant the development time. If I remember correctly, it is technically on the GitHub to-do list, but low priority
I heard good things about Tenjiku Shogi, but Chu is already so big that I don't know if I'll ever need a bigger game. Wa Shogi and Tori Shogi would be nice, though. I've loved 7x7 Tori for years, and Wa feels a bit like an 11x11 escalation, the simple piece movements are very unique and interesting compared to all the super-powered range pieces of Dai. Still would be happy to try and lose to shibamizo57 if we do get Reiwa Dai Shogi, though!
At some point there may as well be a "create your own variant" system that lets users go wild with the rules and setups. That might not be lishogi, though.
Unlike Tenjiku and Chu, Dai does not really have a playerbase at all. Tenjiku would be a nightmare to implement and Chu is already here, but Tori might be added here, given it's on Pychess. Not sure about Wa Shogi.
Pychess runs really poorly on my computer, so I hope they're implemented here soon...
@COArSe_D1RTxxx can you elaborate what "runs really poorly" means in your case in a PM, please?
You can't post in the forums yet. Play some games!
