Hello. I've started to play about a month ago and learnt the basics thanks to Hidechi videos. However i feel like i'm stuck at making strategies, for both early/endgame and reading opponents opening. Right now i can't beat AI lv 4 , so i wanted to ask what kind of training should i do. Like , is it best to focus on one kinf of strategy (be it ranging or static rook) to get used to it , or perhaps focusing on castles according to opponents opening could be more fruitful ??
I thinl if you beatt lvl 3 ai then you are not a beginner anymore. I needed month beating Yanarou at level 3
Where do you think your problems are right now in beating him
A not understadning his moves in the begnning
B Having problems atacking and then overseeing your own safty
C Not sure which pieces are helping in an atack when you need to move them?
D not executung mates?
And what time control you use agaisnt him
To your original question I maybe know 2 castles and 2 opoenings so I my be biased but focusing on one opening each site is good
Then either grinding that oponing against ai or agaisnt human tutors may help
I coud do a traing game (coresspondence time) but I maybe not a help with theory in certain openings(even my own)
Hi, I'm also new to Shogi. I managed to beat AI lv 4 once, but to be honest lv 3 is still chewing me out almost every time.
My thinking is until I'm able to easily beat at least lv4, I shouldn't go against human player (got beaten by 5-kyu and 1-kyu this morning, too).
Should I keep playing with AI or should I try asking for coach on the forum?
YOu can try both and then see which you think will help you more
I'd recommend trying to play against people where you can, especially if you can have 'post game discussion' afterwards, as that will be very helpful
however, if you don't yet have confidence in playing people yet, no stress
You can't post in the forums yet. Play some games!
