Should i give up?

Every time i get near 1800 and have the chance too reach 1800 something happened. Either i play mutch worse than my rating or get a 1500 who is 2400 in secret or now in the last match simply missclicked on the resign butonn in an clearly even postion

My goal is tpo reach 1800 but this games saying i will never reach it . I am so tired of this, i should quit this game, i dont have the talent for this

yo man, play for fun, not for rating. Play your own style, find it, find entertainment in the game rather than ambition, because for what?
It's just a game. If you like it, you will come back here. I am back after over ten years.^^

I only started truly enjoying shogi when I gave up trying to be good at it. So maybe?

as more people join a platform the rating will necessarily deflate, the level of play that used to get you 1800 will probably be measured as 1600 in the future

1800 is an arbitrary number that you're stressing over anyway. if you ever reach 1800 that's not the end of your problems either; you will stress out defending that number and then feel like garbage if you drop below that

better to lower expectations and take it easy

i know the trouble. Thats why i hate ratings and mostly play as anonymous. Without a rating, you would never realize that you are close to a threshold and always make atypical mistakes just before it. Then you would just play for fun. 20 points is not even measurable in reality. Nobody can estimate whether you are 1780 or 1800.

ratings on this website are not something to take that seriously I think, there are way more popular websites like 24R or Piyo shogi that offer a rating system where 1800 is extremely far from what it is here, so elo here isn't something official
